'Totto' Syrah

Tasting Notes

2012 was our first vintage of Kulta Totto Syrah. Made in the style of the great wines of the Northern Rhone, this wine pays tribute to the style. Finesse and complexity of character that typifies the old world style of winemaking. From the beginning, it is attention grabbing with scents of lively red fruits, spice box, earth, violets and garrigue with touches of wet earth and bacon fat. On the palate, the wine is concentrated with more of the red fruits and hints of olive tapenade with earthy tannins tending to the meat derived characters. Finishing dense yet lively and fresh this Kulta Syrah is destined to be a modern classic.

18/20 – Jancis Robinson.

Reviews and Accolades

Jancis Robinson: Richard Hemming, Master of Wine - 18 Points, "Dried fruits, black cherry, quite a high dose of acidity on the palate and a soft tannic edge too. Very savoury, very peppery and a lovely leathery finish. Serious and savoury, with dark chocolate and compact black fruit on the finish. Very serious and Cornas-esque."
